Lately mine has been anything but.
My job plus the commute to and from work seems to have become more demanding this year. I love my job, but there are many times I wish I could stay home and walk along the beach with Missy (and John) instead of setting off in the car each morning.
I'm still glad we moved to Bribie island but I have much less free time than I used to.
Along the back fence the palms and the native hibiscus have reached fence height. The cannas continue to flower, but with Winter coming on they will die back soon.
The heliconias are also growing well and the crepe myrtle.
We'll soon have a mini tropical retreat.
A lovely place to sit and enjoy the garden....
Hope to have time to do that soon.
So glad that you popped in to say hi....was wondering how you guys were doing.
ReplyDeleteHopefully soon you will be retired and will be able to spend more time relaxing on the island as you had anticipated when moving there.
Heck I live on an island and I can't seem to get a full day of rest either!!
The garden is coming along quite nicely...love the pom pom hibiscus.
It's so frustrating when work takes over your life. :( Hopefully, you'll have more free time soon. Love that hibiscus! What a beautiful color. :o)
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of colour already - and you havent been in the new place that long. I had an enforced break at home last week and quite honestly had a hard time settling down to one project.
